CANCELLATION/REFUND POLICY:
Students will be registered upon receipt of a registration form accompanied by full payment. Registrations may be cancelled and refunded less a $100.00 service charge if written notice of cancellation is received 30 days prior to the start of course. No refunds for days missed. Applicable member discount codes must be entered at the time of purchase, NYC cannot retroactively apply discount codes. Participants asked to leave courses due to safety or disciplinary concerns shall not receive a refund of any funds paid to participate in the course.
CANSAIL FEE:
A $24 CANSail Participant Fee will automatically be included in your cart along with your first program registration per child.
AGE RESTRICTIONS:
The minimum age for any youth NYC Sailing & Racing School program is 7 years old. The maximum age for any youth program is 18 years old. Recommended ages are included in the descriptions for each course.
No previous sailing experience is required for CANSail 1.
To qualify for CANSail 2, sailors must have achieved their CANSail 1 level.
Minimum age 7 - recommended for youth aged 7-12.
SESSION 1
There will be no class on the Canada Day Holiday - July 1, 2025.

There will be no class on the Civic Holiday - August 4, 2025.
SESSION 4
Pre-requisite CANSail 2 or CANSail 3 level.
Recommended for youth aged 12-16. Recommended weight 100-160 lbs.
For smaller/younger sailors we suggest you consider the Opti Race program.
Please Note: This program includes attendance at a local/regional regatta. Regatta registration and related travel costs are NOT included in course fees. The regatta will be hosted off-site at another yacht club and parents should be prepared to help carpool and chaperone participants. The regatta schedule for 2025 is tentative - please inquire for additional details.

SESSION 2
There will be no class on the Civic Holiday - August 4, 2025.
Pre-requisite CANSail 2 or CANSail 3 level.
Recommended for youth aged 7-15. Maximum age 15 years old. Recommended weight 70-110 lbs.
For larger/older sailors we suggest you consider the CANSail 3&4 program.
Please Note: This program includes attendance at local/regional regattas. Regattas are typically on weekdays, but may also occur on weekends - any weekend regattas are followed by a "Rest Day" on Monday with no programming. Regatta registration, accommodation and related travel costs are NOT included in course fees. An additional Regatta Fee is required to cover all instructor expenses at regattas. Regattas are often hosted off-site at other yacht clubs and parents are required to help carpool, tow trailers and chaperone participants. The regatta schedule for 2025 is tentative - please inquire for additional details. A $250 damage deposit will be collected from each sailor for exclusive use of a Club-assigned boat, to ensure it is returned in its original condition.
